Estimators read through plans and specs and put together cost estimates for the construction of the project. What I enjoy the most about our work and estimating specifically is when we get work directly with the owner or client and help them put together the project that they want within their budget.

What project are you most proud of working on, and why? Either IMG Throws or Trailhead and for vastly different reasons. IMG Throws was really challenging on the estimating side of things with restrictions and budget and other things but wound up being a fairly easy installation. Trailhead was much easier during the bidding phase, but it is a design build project so I have been more involved with the project than I normally would be and it is not our typical project.

Which SCG Core Value resonates with you the most and why? We improve every day. Getting better or improving every day is something that I have tried to live before I even started at SCG so that one really hits home for me. And while all the Core Values play into each other, if you are trying improve every day, a lot of the other ones fall in line. If you aren’t holding yourself accountable or doing what is right, then it becomes very difficult to improve everyday.
